This is the official web site of Joseph W. Stucki, Professor of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois, and his research group. Professor Stucki joined the faculty of the University of Illinois on January 1, 1976, upon completion of his Ph.D. degree at Purdue University.
The group consists of various numbers of senior scientists; visiting scholars; graduate, undergraduate, and high school students, depending on the year and season.
Professor Stucki has traveled extensively and visited more than fifty countries. He has had or currently has active collaborations with colleagues in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Singapore, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
He has served the university as a member of promotion and tenure, faculty advisory, and academic freedom and tenure committees, and as Assistant Dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences. He has served his profession as a member of numerous panels and scientific committees; has had visiting appointments in France and Switzerland and at the US Environmental Protection Agency; and was President of The Clay Minerals Society. He was elected Fellow of the American Society of Agronomy and of the Soil Science Society of America and received other honors and awards from his professional societies and alma mater.
